Have you seen the Trending Topics sidebar on Facebook?

Have you seen the Trending Topics sidebar on Facebook?

We all use some sort of social media these days.  I use mine for business networking and building our company brand. Some use social media to stay connected with their friends, others use it to tell the world what they are eating and other daily life events. Regardless of what you use it for, there is one thing in common; it’s addicting. Twitter has always had their “trending topics”. Trending Topics shows you the popular topics and hashtags that are being talked about currently. On twitter, you could always see what the hot conversation topic is at the moment and with hashtags chime in anytime.  As of today, Facebook is cashing in on the Trending Topics concept of social media. Recently, Facebook activated their use of hashtags into the social media site and now they are included a Trending Topics bar on the top-right screen when you sign in. On Facebook, You’ll see stories from people and pages who’ve shared them with you or have shared them as Public.

Before the Trending Topics sidebar, we had to actually read through everybody’s posts on your timeline to really see what was going on in the news. Sometimes when I wanted to know if there was some breaking news or major sports game, or earthquake (to my fellow California residents) I would just log into Facebook and read some posts from my friends. As of today, I could just click on the sidebar and read posts from EVERYONE who is posting in regards to that Trending Topic.  It makes it interesting to really know what people are thinking, and not just the people on your friends list. I am curious to see how it will be with the Superbowl, or another huge sporting event, a major breaking news story, weather, etc…
The real question about the trending topics is how are you going to use them, relate to them, or if you’re simply amused by them?
Leave us your thoughts…

Allure Apps Custom Mobile Apps Services and Products

Allure Apps Custom Mobile Apps Services and Products

As we kick off the 2014, we wanted to take this opportunity to introduce our product and services; we are a Mobile App Development company based out of sunny Los Angeles, California. We specialize in building custom Mobile Apps for a wide range of industries, businesses, and brands. Sure we can make games and other gadget apps, but our calling is to help businesses expand their presence across all Mobile App platforms (Apple, Android, and Windows).

When we initially launched our company, the idea was to make Apps more affordable; we realized that most App Development companies were charging lump sums ranging from 7k to as high as 45k to create custom Mobile Apps for franchises and corporations. These same companies were then charging additional fees for upkeep, updating, hosting, and general IT work that goes into keeping your app in tip-top working form. Taking nothing away from their products and services, but we knew these were some ridiculously high prices for the average business or brand to afford and budget for. Sure its not difficult for major corporations to dish big bucks, but we wanted the smaller companies, musicians, and entrepreneur’s to have the same fair shot in succeeding as the big guys do.

We have created a structure allowing almost anyone to have the same advantages of a CUSTOM MOBILE APP for a fraction of the price. How did we do it? Simple, we do everything in-house; everything from our creative graphics design team to our multi-talented programmers are committed to evening out the playing field and help the middle class grow once again in our economy. Your Business and/or Brand can now have all the same technological advantages as any of the major corporations do.

OUR SERVICES:
  • All custom designs
  • Business analysis
  • Strategic features and options industry specified
  • Approval process by you every step of the way, to ensure 100% satisfaction
  • Develop and Code
  • Debug/testing
  • Submission to marketplace for approval
  • Host
  • Update/upkeep

Our structure is simple, easy to understand and consumer friendly. We have an initial affordable design fee; this is for us to build you your Custom Mobile Apps based on your desires and wants, with our helpful advice and experience along the way. Once your App is complete and live ready for download, monthly payments will begin; starting at just $99 a month.

The exciting CES is back in Vegas!

The exciting CES is back in Vegas!

As most of you are aware, CES is the single biggest electronic show in the nation. Once a year we have all the major brands and innovative technologies displayed for the public to see.. for a hefty priced entrance pass ($700-1600). I think most would agree, they would rather use that money towards buying older model products rather than the opportunity to look at the new ones coming out; maybe that’s just me.

This years highlights compile of UHD and Curved TV’s, Notebook PC’s and adaptive keyboards, fitness and health devices, and other innovative technologies.
The TV’s seem to be taking the majority of the attention, as they usually do. Just about every TV maker is expected to show off some Ultra High Definition (UHD) TV’s, also know as 4K, we are told they have 4x times the resolution of today’s 1080p high def TV’s. These TV’s are incredible to look at, the colors displayed are said to be better than real life it seems. But the major issue is, there isn’t any content to view on them just yet making them irrelevant until we produce content that justifies the extra dollars you would be spending on these new TV’s.
The other is the curved TV displayed by Samsung; this TV actually bends up to 20 degrees using the remote control. Samsung’s Dave Das told the press the screen will create a more immersive experience. Very impressive!
Notebook PC’s with adaptive keyboards are also drawing in crowds; Lenovo introduces variety of new tablets and notebooks including the new 14-inch Carbon X1, which weighs only 2.8 pounds, making it lighter than the 13-inch MacBook Air. The fascinating feature is the adaptive keyboard, where the function keys chance, depending on the application you’re using.
If you’re going to CES, enjoy and comment about your experience; if you’re not going to attend CES, I’m sure you’ll be exposed to everything that was displayed soon enough.
The Allure Apps team.

What is SEO? And how can it benefit you in 2014?

What is SEO? And how can it benefit you in 2014?

By now, I’m sure everyone has heard how SEO (Search Engine Optimization) can be beneficial to your businesses and brands, but nobody has a full understanding of what it really is and how it works. We all hear various theories, practices, and even get direct advice from some of our friends and business relationships all to help us generate more leads on our websites. But the truth is, there are many aspects of SEO that are in the gray area and undefined.

The first and most important thing to consider is, you want to register your company on as many directories as possible; this will give your company the base it needs to build a great SEO campaign off of. The next step is going through your websites keywords, Meta tags, and Meta descriptions and appropriately set them up (you can Google tips and advice on how to select the most effective words for your industry).  I know there is an argument going around in the tech world in regards to this, how it’s not effective since Google changed their algorithm, but I say,  “It can’t hurt!” And last but probably the most important is to Blog, blogging keeps you relevant, informative, and if done with strategy can generate hits on your site.

This is a very general introduction to SEO, how it’s done and to what extend is an art form on its own, as nobody has a step-by-step playbook of exactly what to do and how to do it. SEO companies will try to sell you on all sorts of promises, collect thousands of dollars without having to prove anything, because as we all know, SEO is not instantly obtained. Moving up in Google’s organic search takes time, commitment, and repetition and hopefully you’ll see some results within 6 months to a year.

Be careful who you hire for your company’s SEO needs, consider doing it yourself is probably the most effective route. The one thought I would like to leave our readers with is this, Interview several SEO companies, really pick their brains about exactly what they will be doing for you? How many times a day/week/month? Where are they submitting your blogs? And last, do your homework on their clients, maybe even try to reach out to them and see if you can get some information.

Good luck everyone, and we’ll see you on the Net.
