Grand Theft Auto V Hits $800 Million In First 24 Hours Of Sale

Grand Theft Auto V hits $800 million in first 24 hours of sale. Records are being set, history is being made, and the makers, Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive Software are the talk of the town… $800 million is a very large number in any entertainment industry. The record, which was previously held by ‘Call Of Duty Black Ops II’ at $500 Million in sales for the first 24 hours, was blown away! To further put things into perspective, Grand Theft Auto V did more in sales than the movie Avatar did during its lifespan in the theatres which was somewhere in the 760 Millions.

So why the hype? Is it the greatest game ever created? Is Grand Theft Auto V the most interesting game very created? Or is it simply hyped up the best with strategic marketing and PR releases that edged them over the competition? Maybe its just perfect timing, nothing of this magnitude is really going on in entertainment right now. The movies out in the theatre are Red Box rentals at best, and the only other game with any following that was released this month was Madden 25, but like the tittles states, there are 25 other versions of it out there already. So is timing the key to great sales on release day?

Grand Theft Auto V and Rockstar Games are now the milestone for every entertainment release date from now on. They are the “Jordan” of the entertainment industry. But like any other record whether it is in sports, media, or sales; records are meant to be broken. They set the standard for a limited time until someone else comes along and says, “I can do better”. Lester brown, one for the greatest motivational speakers of all time will tell you, most people fail in life because they aim too high and miss, but rather because they aim too low and hit. So, great job by the team at Rockstar Games and Take-Two interactive software with setting the bar high with the release the Grand Theft Auto V.
